Obituary for Sherman " Tony" Ford

Sherman Anderson Ford (Tony) entered this earthly life November 5, 1939 as the 4th child born to Leola and Henry Ford Sr, in Monroe, Louisiana. Both Parents and three of his siblings, Henry Jr, Silas and Meridee, have preceded him in death. Tony later moved to Detroit, Michigan and completed his early education at Miller High School. In 1957 he left to join the Marine Corps and thus began a very colorful, exciting, productive and illustrious life. On July 7, 2002, this 'dancer extraordinaire' married the new love of his life, Barbara Faye Carter. After gracing Californians with their talent for fashion, dance and entertainment, in 2004, this beautiful couple relocated to San Antonio, Texas. On Tuesday night, January 10, 2017, at approximately 11:30 pm, Tony received his change of address order and departed from earth to his heavenly home. Tony leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: a devoted and loving wife, Barbara Carter - Ford; a sister, Gloria Davenport and her children Danny, Cassandra, Sheila, Gloria, John; his children, Anthony Ford (Jacqueline), Renee Williams (Daniel), Lisa Smith (Smitty), Steven Ford (Dwanetta); his grandchildren, Devon, Devyn, Lamont, Shamara, LaRisa, Larry, LaRance, LaTecia, Ja'Kiya; his 12 great-grandchildren;his in-laws Mrs. Johnnie Carter, Bobby Carter, Coco Whitaker, Pamela Graham, Nathaniel and Sherlie Ladner; and additional family and friends.
