Obituary for Annie D. Mitchell

The Mitchell Family announce with great sadness the passing of Annie Delores "Lois" Mitchell on Monday, June 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, a beautiful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Annie D. Mitchell was born in Prichard, Alabama to the parents of Henderson Anderson and Marie Hart, on May 20, 1932. Annie dedicated her life to Christ at a young age while a student at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic School, later, she joined Grove Baptist Church in Prichard, Alabama. Years later, she became a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, always happy and ready to serve under the guidance and leadership of Rev. H.R. James, Sr., Pastor. Annie served as President of the Courtesy Committee, Chairperson of Women's Day Committee and a number of other committee positions. Annie's professional career was primarily Civil Service. She worked at Brookley Air Force Base as a key punch operator in Mobile, Alabama. The family moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1967 where she worked as a computer operator. Annie retired in 1990 from Kelly Air Force Base after 30 years of service. Annie entered into Holy Matrimony to Vergia Mitchell in 1951. They renewed their vows in 2001, after 50 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vergia; two sons, Larry Mitchell and Virgil Mitchell; two grandchildren, Larry Mitchell, Jr., and Rhea Stevens; parents; and sister, Marie Wright. She leaves in God's Care her memory to her two sons, Benjamin (Rosalyn) Mitchell and Elwood K. (Dorean) Mitchell; three daughters, Robin Beasley, Marie McGarity and Laura Mitchell; two daughter-in-laws, Linda Mitchell and Sylvia Mitchell; ten grandchildren, Lolita Mitchell, Oscar (Veronica) Mitchell, Cameron (Ali-Zandra) Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Marques (Khristina) Mitchell, Mychal (Aryon) Mitchell, Landon Mitchell, Lindsay Mitchell, Christopher Beasley, and Chelsea McGarity; great grandchildren, sister, Leola Diamond; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends like you..
